Advances in consumer electronics and specifically flat screen television technology are greatly influencing the way furniture manufacturers, designers and cabinet makers think about entertainment furniture. With sales of cathode ray tube televisions declining sharply and flat screen TV's increasing considerably cabinet design is changing rapidly. With the depths of the new TV's measuring well under 5 inches it is no longer necessary to build deep cabinets that would traditionally use pocket door hardware and exposed hinges.

To address the issue of where to place the flat screen TV, the Whisper-Ride TV Lift was designed and developed by Wood Technology, Inc. and the Danish firm ConSet with these basic principles in mind; Quality, reliability, simplicity, affordability, design and function. With the installer and consumer in mind the unit can be fitted inside a cabinet or against any suitable surface within minutes by simply screwing in the TV lift unit, power supply and RF module. Once you make a few simple connections and position the universal mounting brackets the TV is ready to be secured. Mounting can also be reversed to allow Whisper-Ride to drop down. With Wood Technology's 30 year experience and ConSet's engineering expertise it's a perfect fit for flat screen TV's up to 50 inches. Please note that due to the 29.5" (750mm) stroke some 50" models may not be suitable.

Whisper-Ride takes up the least amount of space in a cabinet or other enclosure measuring less than 10 inches in width and requiring only 2 ¾ inches of depth behind the TV. This allows for a very slender enclosure or cabinet to be built that will not only house the TV but also the rest of the entertainment components as well. The high quality German Bosch motor provides Whisper quiet operation with a weight capacity of 200 Lbs.

A wide array of applications throughout the kitchen and office are possible as well. Other TV lifts are difficult to install, sometimes taking several hours and numerous people. This is difficult enough for custom shops and totally impractical in a production setting. Whisper-Ride can be completely installed in under 30 minutes by a single individual or in approximately 10 minutes in a production setting. Other TV lifts take up a great deal of space inside a cabinet making the cabinet larger than necessary and creating difficulty with the placement of other electronic components. Whisper-Ride requires only 2 3/4 inches of depth behind the TV and measures less that 10 inches wide. With the supplied recommended installation instructions, the Whisper-Ride TV lift can be easily extracted from a cabinet should service become necessary.
